USB telemetry receiver for the AIM XTRA

The AIM BASE is the ground receiver for the AIM XTRA GPS flight tracking computer. Tracks over 30 km (line of sight) with the provided antenna, and well beyond with a Yagi.

All information from the AIM XTRA is relayed in real time to your PC via the AIM BASE receiver. The multi-channel receiver operates on the 432-434 MHz band family alongside the XTRA transceiver.

It is easy to use and fully USB compatible. It does not need a data kit or RS232 emulation - a true plug and play solution.

The AIM BASE firmware can be upgraded by the user from a PC, so your receiver stays current with the latest XTRA features.

How it works

From GPS fix in the air to live data on your screen.

Key features

Select a feature for more details.

  • Ultra sensitive RF front end with a link budget of over 145 dB
The high link budget is what enables reliable telemetry beyond 30 km with the standard antennas, and much farther with a Yagi.
  • Multichannel with easy switching from within the BASE software
Switch channels from the software without touching the hardware - handy when several rockets fly from the same site.
  • Moulded whip antenna included
The included whip antenna simply screws on and covers everyday flights. Upgrade to a Yagi for extreme range.
  • Free custom software for receiving data and changing settings
The free BASE software shows live altitude, GPS position, orientation and line status as the telemetry arrives.
  • No data kit required - connect directly with a USB cable
Connects to your PC with a standard USB cable and appears as a native device - no data kit or serial adapters needed.
